After graduating from Newcastle University in 2016 with a degree in Agriculture and Agronomy, I took some time to travel before going on to work for Origin fertilisers as a technical adviser, promoting prescription blends and their benefits. I then moved to the National Farmers’ Union where I spent three years as combinable crops policy adviser, experiencing the turbulence of the political world, and helping to support members through exceptional times arising from Brexit and Covid, dealing with everything from future support to supply chain complications, potential no-deal scenarios to chemical revocations and assurance schemes.
In 2021 I felt the pull back towards on-farm advice and wanted to take a more active role in helping farmers deal with future policy changes on the ground, joining Indigro in August. I am passionate about independent agronomic advice and helping to bring land into balance on farm with productive agriculture sitting alongside environmental and biodiversity measures, providing benefits for all elements of modern life and the countryside.
I have achieved my Basis Certificate in Crop Protection and also am a FACTS Qualified Advisor.
